Everyone who came was touched by the feeling of Maharaj ji’s presence.

Seven Akhand Paaths began at 2 a.m. on Friday, February 21st. On that day, children of Baba Virsa Singh Ji Maharaj Primary School presented a programme of dances, poems, recitations, and questions about Maharaj ji’s life. That night, people who came to Jesus’ Place for evening prayers broke into loving singing about Maharaj ji. On Saturday February 22, kirtan by Gurdaspur sangat was followed by a special havan at Angeetha Sahib, with refreshments offered by the youth of Gobind Sadan.

Sunday February 23rd began with Akhand Paath Samapti, and then Akhand Paath bhog in the Diwan Hall. Jagjit Singh of Batala and Joginder Kaur of USA started the kirtan programme, followed by Baba Nirmal Singh Cheema-wala and his 14-year-old son singing stirring shabds such as “Whatever is there, is all Yours” and “Our soul has broken from the Light, so please unite us with God.”  Ralph Singh, Founding President of Gobind Sadan USA, told how he came to Maharaj’s feet in Gobind Sadan 54 years ago as a young man. Maharaj ji told him, “You are a student, but in this school you will have to start at the beginning, with Nam and meditation.” Ralph recounted, “At once that inner light washed over me like a peaceful ocean.” Addressing the sangat emotionally, since at his age he never whether he will be able to make another trip to Gobind Sadan, he said, “I never saw such a loving and joyful sangat. Maharaj ji brightens your heart to dispel the darkness.”

Sardar Jagdish Singh spoke of meeting Maharaj ji, receiving Nam, and then bringing a girls’ team for Maharaj’s blessings. “They came here and did seva in the fields, and they all got high positions afterward.”

Gurdaspur sangat also graced the occasion, singing with their characteristic passion.  All who came seem to have received a good dose of Maharaj ji’s loving blessings.
