From March 30 to April 6, Navratri—the festival of the Goddess in nine of Her forms—was carried on in Maharaj ji’s World Peace Havan. On April 5, Gobind Sadan’s gardeners and their families began a 24-hour reading of the Ramayana in Mataji’s temple. After it ended the next morning, there was a havan attended by sevadars from Russia and Israel as well as Gobind Sadan residents at Mataji’s temple, followed by distribution of food prepared for the whole sangat by the gardener families. At Maharaj ji’s World Peace Havan, Pandit Joginder Mishra, Hardip Singh, and Ranvir Singh Khanna completed the Navratri ceremonies with a large havan, honouring of two little girls representing the Goddess, and washing of the feet of 9 little girls and offering of food to them. Navratri is always a happy celebration at Gobind Sadan, and people of all religions from the sangat join in.
