As always, not only Hindus but also Sikhs, Muslims, and Christians enthusiastically celebrated the festival of the Goddess from 22 September to 1st October, 2025 at Gobind Sadan. Each day Pandit Jogender Mishra led Hardip Singh and Ranvir Singh Khanna (“Vakil Sahib”) in the formal rituals of the puja for each goddess, and each night, Mata ji’s temple rang with songs of Her praises. On the last day, gardeners of Gobind Sadan enthusiastically carried on continuous reading of the Ramayana for 24 hours. After that reading finished on the morning of 1st October, there was a havan, distribution of prasad, and feeding of the kanjkas (young girls) at the temple. As soon as that programme finished, the final puja began at Maharaj ji’s havan, with foreign sevadars from Russia and Israel among the many people who attended both programmes. When the celebration at Maharaj ji’s havan finished with feeding of the kanjkas, the focus shifted back to Mataji’s temple, where the malis and their families had prepared lunch for the whole sangat.
