Maharaj at Angeetha Sahib
Gobind Sadan is always a special place. But this year, more so than in recent memory, Babaji’s birthday celebration made it feel like the ocean of peace it is known for. Simply walking through the gates we were enveloped by waves of love—His Divine presence unmistakenly welcoming everyone home.
Akhand Path
From the 7 Akhand Paths in the Darbar Sahib, to the constant meditation at the sacred fires, and the kirtan echoing across the fields all gave renewed meaning to the word devotion. At the end of the 3 days there was Jaap Sahib around the large sacred fire, and a grand finale of fireworks and dancing well into the night. It was truly memorable and brought back memories of the “old” days when following a full day’s work or multiple celebrations, Babaji himself would stand and sing, sangat gathered around him, his etherial voice calling to God in eternal thanks. It would seem as if all Creation was singing and dancing in delight and the sangat would sing and dance along.
Prabh Noor telling Maharaj’s historyThe stage was crammed with those waiting to share their experiences at Babaji’s feet or speak of his contributions to spreading the love of God, in Guru Gobind Singh ji’s footsteps, across all boundaries, religious and secular, and as our Russian and American devotees shared, across geographical boundaries as well. Jethedar, Giani Iqbal Singh ji of Takhat Patna Sahib, told of how he had seen first hand the impact of Babaji’s message in Russia and America, and of course in India, bridging the gaps often created by the fundamentalists on all sides. The children too joined in the program, with some of the little ones giving the most glowing speeches.
For those who have felt distanced since Babaji left his physical body, I can only say that you are missing the beauty of the essence—that spirit, embodied in Nam, Jaap Sahib, and seva, never goes anywhere, and the healing power simply grows and grows. Just open your minds and hearts. And for those who have never experienced Gobind Sadan, the gates are always open—to welcome you with love.
