Gobind Sadan celebrated many different events from 23 to 25 December. The programme began with Akhand Paaths and then a special havan in honour of Baba Virsa Singh Ji’s passing on December 24th. On 25 December, the sangat honoured the birthdays of both Guru Gobind Singh and Jesus, by Maharaj’s perennial hukam to celebrate them on the same day, to demonstrate that they were not separate—that there are no God-made walls between prophets or religions. Throughout this cold December, Gobind Sadan was also remembering the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh, who were martyred at this time. In their memory, the celebrations were rather subdued, but God’s Love was flowing abundantly.
During the Christmas speeches, Sardar Baldev Singh, Principal of Guru Granth Sahib Vidya Kendra, affirmed that there should be respect among all religions, as taught by Guru Granth Sahib. Reverend Bhaskar confirmed, “We all belong to one family. There is only One God, Who is inside us.” Tamara, a sevadar from Vladivostok, Russia who spoke during Guru Gobind Singh’s birthday programme, enthusiastically proclaimed, “In Babaji’s heart are all the prophets, saints, and the vast world of all deities! He loves everyone, honours everyone, and is grateful to everyone!”
