As the Delhi government gradually eases lockdown restrictions because of coronavirus, yoga activities held outside were permitted from 21 June onward. Fortunately, this is the International Yoga Day, and 2 teachers from Etwari Sewa Sansthan in nearby Chattarpur came to give a free yoga class for Gobind Sadan residents. It was held in the fresh early morning air at Buddha and Mahavir’s Pavilion, where about 25 residents from age 12 to 78 enjoyed a wonderful class led by Dr. Ashok K. Rai and Sukhwinder Singh. They explained the health benefits of each posture, from warmups to advanced breathing practices. The class was so pleasant and beneficial that many of the residents who have not previously been doing yoga are now planning to do so on a regular basis.
