The birthday of Baba Siri Chand ji, the great mystic saint and elder son of Guru Nanak Dev ji, First Guru of Sikhs, was celebrated with great love at Gobind Sadan, Gadaipur, Mehrauli, in New Delhi on 7 to 9 September,2008. Sixteen Akhand Paths of Sri Guru Granth Sahib were conducted simultaneously by many sevadars from 2 a.m. on 7th September. A seminar on “Baba Siri Chand and the Role of Udasis in Historical Perspective” was organized by the Baba Virsa Singh ji Maharaj Memorial Trust on 7th September, with scholars presenting their findings about this great saint, who was highly revered by people of all religions. On 8 September, 13 tins of ghee and a great quantity of samagri were offered during a special havan conducted at the site of the samadhi of Baba Virsa Singh, beloved founder of Gobind Sadan. On 9th September, many ragis, dhadis, and poets came to offer music and original poetry in honour of Baba Siri Chand ji. Devotees of Baba Virsa Singh Ji also initiated kar seva for the samadhi of Baba Virsa Singh,  joined by kar sevaks from Sampardai Kaar Sewa of Tarn Tarn, Punjab, under the leadership of Baba Hakim Singh.
