Baba Virsa Singh Recalls His Letter to President Bush of 5 Years Ago

Baba Virsa Singh calls on Leaders of the World to Change the Terrorist Mind:
“Conquer their minds with Spiritual Power”

Baba Virsa Singh, one of India’s most respected spiritual leaders today called on the world’s leadership to look at itself and its policies, gain control of their own minds, take responsibility for their own actions in spreading hatred and fear, and appealed to all we term terrorists to put down their weapons and accept peace.

In his letter to President Bush dated October 3, 2001, Babaji appealed to the President as a Father of all nations to act cautiously and approach the situation with the calmness of an elder statesman otherwise risk disaster:

“I am writing out of my love for you, the people of the United States, and the world. It is true that terrorism exists today through which thousands of innocent people have died through no fault of their own. We all agree the action is evil. But act very cautiously. If you attack any country, hundreds of thousands of innocent people may die and you will be seen as the bigger terrorist.”

Turning his attention to the worsening situation in the world, Baba Virsa Singh counseled opinion leaders:

“Today everyone’s mind has slipped off its base. This is not a problem of one particular country or culture; everyone’s mind is wavering.”

“When a river overflows its banks it does great damage to the surrounding areas. But when a person’s mind is not controlled, he can destroy entire countries. Anger and hatred are out of control. You must control your anger. Leadership must speak responsibly. Media must deliver messages that soothe the people, not pour more oil on the fire. Every word ignites more violence, and creates more fear. First look to God, then look within and find peace. Once you have found that peace then speak and your peace will touch the people. It is your role to spread peace. Now you are just spreading anger and fear.”

Babaji then addressed religious leaders calling on them to teach their people peace not hatred.

“We are responsible for war if we don’t teach our people peace. Teach your people that all religions are good and they will learn peace. No one religion is best. All the prophets have come from the same God and all teach love. Today we teach that ‘mine is the only way or our religion is best’. This is the root of all conflict. Break down these forts you have erected and let the people live in peace. Awaken peace within yourselves then create a climate of mutual love and respect. Jesus belongs to the whole Universe, the Prophet Muhammad came for all humanity. So let us celebrate each other’s holidays and share each others scriptures.”

Baba Virsa Singh recalled his own experiences overcoming the most vicious terrorist outbreak in modern India in the border state of Mizoram.

“Spirituality is the most powerful force in the universe. It strikes peoples’ hearts even when they are in hiding. Where no other weapon can penetrate, and no intelligence can search them out, Dharma will reach its target and turn the terrorist mind towards peace. This is the only way to stop the violence. All other means only increases the pressure and leads to more violence. But the government must adopt the principles of Dharma; listen to their needs, solve their problems, and peace will come. When God and the Government work together, the violence will end.”

Babaji has seen in his vision that peace will come but it will come at a great price, not just to those countries who have been devastated by war, but the cost to those who have perpetrated the war may even be higher.

“Now everything in the world has been turned upside down and only God can put it right. But have faith; it will be all right. All the prophets have promised that when times are very hard, peace will certainly follow.”

Because of his spiritual power, Baba Virsa Singh’s blessings and vision is sought after by leaders from all segments of society and many countries. In 1989, on Soviet National Television, Babaji predicted the breakup of the Soviet Union. Whatever God shows him comes true. In Gobind Sadan (God’s House without Walls), Babaji’s center on the outskirts of Delhi, prayers for peace have been going on continuously round the clock since 1968. There, the major holidays of all religions are celebrated to teach reverence for all who have brought God’s message. Babaji has developed productive farms out of previous wastelands to show how we can grow out of poverty in the world.

“Keep growing in love for your Master. Do not look to this side or that or even at the path ahead, because people will always be criticizing you.”

Baba Virsa Singh

“Trees do not wear crosses, but the great spiritual beings see God in trees. Water has no symbols, but Guru Gobind Singh says, ‘My God is in water.”
